New stakeholders meeting in Bucharest-Ilfov

On February 1st Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Development Agency (BIRDA) organized the second EMBRACER Regional Stakeholder Group Meeting. The active participation of local, regional, and central public authorities, academia, research institutions, private companies (including local and regional transport companies) and NGOs has favored a holistic approach to sustainable regional mobility development. With 30 representatives of key regional stakeholders in attendance, the meeting highlighted the importance of EMBRACER's thematic focus in shaping the region's public agenda.

The gathering provided an opportunity to present an overview of BIRDA's responsibilities concerning the Policy Instrument targeted by EMBRACER – the Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Programme 2021-2027. For a common understanding of the general framework, it was expounding the Interreg Europe Programme – it’s objectives, area of intervention, budget and financing priorities.  This was followed by the presentation of the EMBRACER project in terms of partnership, overall objective, specific activities and outcomes, highlighting already implemented and upcoming activities. The main focus of the seminar was the presentation of legislative framework governing intermodal, sustainable and intelligent mobility and practices identified as a sources of inspiration from Bucharest-Ilfov region related to intermodal mobility - developing connectivity alternatives for peri-urban communities. 

The following practices were presented to the attendees of the meeting: E-mobility Rentals – an integrated solution with an incorporated electrical ecosystem and ”Metropolitan Train“ - urban and metropolitan train services in the Bucharest-Ilfov region implemented by Bucharest-Ilfov Intercommunity Development Association for Public Transport. The meeting continued with discussions regarding the participants’ availability and expression of interest to get involved in the exchange of experience and good practices identification processes.

The event was also an opportunity for the participating specialists and experts to discuss and share information about all the new projects that are being implemented or have to be implemented in the near future in Bucharest-Ilfov Region in relation to the development of sustainable, intermodal and accessible mobility.
