1st IEEE on Cycling along Waterways Safety
How Can We Ensure Safer Cycling Routes Along Waterways?
The Interreg Europe CYCLING WATERWAYS project is thrilled to announce its 1st Interregional Event of Exchange of Experiences (IEEE) Online, dedicated to a key challenge: safety along cycling routes in relation to waterways. This virtual gathering will bring together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore best practices, policies, and technical solutions aimed at enhancing safety and accessibility for cyclists navigating routes integrated with waterways.
This event is open to project partners, stakeholders, and anyone interested in the topic.
Key Topics of Discussion:
-
Safety and Assessment Standards: Understanding road safety measures for cycling infrastructure and waterways through international evaluation programs.
-
Planning and Governance: Showcasing good practices in strategic planning, regulatory frameworks, and policy integration at regional and municipal levels.
-
Intermodal and Sustainable Mobility: Highlighting innovative approaches, such as intermodal solutions (Bike & Boat) and infrastructure development, to promote cycling as a safe and sustainable mode of transport.
With contributions from various European regions, and IRAP, presenting key achievements of projects like SABRINA the event will feature best practice presentations, policy discussions, and technical insights from local and regional authorities, research institutions, and mobility experts.
