Stakeholder Meeting in Emmen, Province of Drenthe (NL)

Held at the Van der Valk Hotel, the event brought together 23 participants from public authorities and businesses on both sides of the Dutch-German border, united by a common ambition: to prepare for the launch of the future Coevorden–Bad Bentheim passenger rail connection.

The meeting strengthened regional ties and initiated practical collaboration around key themes linked to the future of this cross-border service. Stakeholders worked in groups focused on:

• Chain mobility

• Cross-border art

• Education and employment

• Recreation and tourism

Each group explored what could realistically be achieved by December 2026 — when the first passenger train is expected to run — and what concrete steps and partnerships are needed to get there.
