On October 8–9, a workshop was held in Saulkrasti as part of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme’s BEACH-SOS project. The event brought together stakeholders, including local authorities, climate experts, and community members, to tackle the challenges coastal regions face due to climate change. A central focus was fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange to strengthen coastal management and resilience.

The workshop featured presentations and dynamic discussions on climate change impacts, adaptation approaches, and the creation of a shared vision for sustainable coastal management and tourism development. The second day emphasized collaboration with Latvian coastal municipalities, highlighting the importance of monitoring climate signals and implementing adaptation measures to address local vulnerabilities.

The Vidzeme Planning Region’s CLIMATE project team attended both days of the workshop. On the second day, Krišjānis Pundurs, an expert from the CLIMATE project in the Vidzeme Planning Region, presented the CLIMATE project and outlined its objectives, emphasizing its relevance to the themes addressed in the workshop.
