Stakeholder event in Lahti, Finland
On February 19, 2025, a stakeholder event was held to present and discuss the City of Lahti’s planned Circular Economy Green Deal commitment. In total, 21 participants were gathered at Lahti City Hall. Finland's national Circular Economy Green Deal is a voluntary commitment where participating organizations pledge to reduce the use of natural resources and promote a low-carbon circular economy.
The background and benefits of the Circular Economy Green Deal as well as city’s plans for the commitment were presented. In addition, the audience heard learning take-aways from the project Carbon-Neutral Construction Innovation Network.
The event concluded with a joint discussion with participants on the suggested measures for the commitment and the steps needed to advance circular economy work. Participants had the opportunity to share their views, ask experts for more information. The city circular economy specialists got important inputs from the key stakeholders for the commitment preparation work especially for the upcoming decision-making by the City Board.
