Showcasing circular solutions: good practices identification
In its current phase, the Circular Minds project partners are actively working on identifying and documenting good practices. A good practice in the context of Circular Minds is one that demonstrates how a shift in mindset has facilitated the scaling up of a pilot or practice in circular procurement. This process is essential for the project’s goal of driving this change in perspective and overcoming current challenges to circular procurement.
The primary objective of the good practice template is to build a comprehensive knowledge base of replicable circular solutions that can inspire and guide other regions in their transition to a circular economy. It is designed to capture detailed insights into how good practices have achieved their objectives, highlighting the role of mindset shifts in scaling up pilot projects. Furthermore, the template encourages reflection on challenges faced and lessons learned, including cases where pilot projects did not achieve full scale-up. By focusing on both successes and setbacks, the initiative aims to provide a well-rounded understanding of the key factors influencing the adoption and expansion of circular practices. To support this process, a project technical meeting was held on 25 March 2025, providing partners with guidelines and practical advice on how to effectively fill out the template.
Looking ahead, the project will focus on facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration among partners. Upcoming steps include peer-to-peer reviews, where partners will evaluate each other’s documented good practices, and matchmaking sessions, designed to foster direct collaboration and the sharing best practices. These activities are intended to strengthen the project’s collective understanding of circular procurement and to develop a robust network of expertise. Several partners have started completing the Good Practice template and submitting it to Interreg for feedback. Next steps will include a peer-to-peer review between partners and a matchmaking session to facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration. Good practices will also be reviewed and approved by Interreg before their publication.
