4 persons, including the mayor of Chocen to perform the circularity scan

In Pardubice region they launched their first pilot circular scan in Choceň! Together with local leaders, they explored how cities can rethink their approach to a circular economy, how to strengthen multi-helix cooperation, and find sustainable solutions that save resources.

Pilot Circular Scan in Choceň
At the end of March, the Czech project team – Braňo Štefanča and Karolína Petrová – ran a pilot circular scan in the city of Choceň (Pardubice region), a brand-new product developed by the Pardubice Circular Hub. The mayor and deputy mayor were both happy to share their views on the circular economy and provided useful data as a starting point.

The scan examines five key areas: strategic planning, waste management, transport, biodiversity, and the construction sector. It helps cities understand how “circular” they are today and highlights where they can make improvements, join circular initiatives, and save money by adopting more sustainable solutions.

Through these circular scans, we also aim to strengthen cooperation between different groups – local governments, businesses, schools, and communities – and deepen multi-helix collaboration. Municipalities are key players in connecting these sectors and driving real change. As we continue piloting, we are also working to build strong, long-term partnerships and are happy to share lessons learned from working with smaller cities and towns.
