Region of Southern Denmark welcomes CARES for a Study Visit.
The two-day visit showcased innovative eHealth solutions for older adults and highlighted key regional challenges in healthcare. The event gathered participants from Denmark and several European regions, promoting knowledge exchange and collaboration.
The CARES project focuses on identifying eHealth best practices and organizing study visits to partner regions. Following visits to Toruń (Poland), Bordeaux (France) and Linköping (Sweden), the consortium visited the Region of Southern Denmark to explore digital healthcare practices and regional strategies aimed at supporting older adults.
Wednesday 13th November 2024: Regional eHealth strategies and good practices in Southern Denmark
- The day's programme, organized by the Region of Southern Denmark CARES local stakeholder group, included:
- An introduction to the Region of Southern Denmark by Anja Lund, followed by insights into digitization work in the region presented by Kurt Espersen.
- Public-private collaboration and "One Entry" initiatives** were discussed by Anne Friis Hansen, highlighting the region's approach to healthcare innovation.
- Partner presentations from Poland, France, Sweden, and Spain.
- Presentations of good practices from the Region of Southern Denmark:
- The Geriatric Patient & Cross-Sectoral Collaboration** – Presented by Karen A. Ranberg.
- GERI Toolbox v. 2.0 – A telemedicine solution for elderly care, presented by Alexander Eriksen.
- PATINA (Prevention of Acute Admission) – A decision-support tool to monitor older adults at risk, presented by Anders Fournaise.
- Site visit to the New University Hospital Odense**, where participants learned about practical applications of eHealth innovations.
Thursday 14th November 2024: Exploring telemedicine and public-private collaborations
The second day featured additional good practices and partner presentations:
Good practices from the Region of Southern Denmark:
- TeleCOPD – A telemedicine programme for COPD patients, presented by Kuno JS Kudajewski.
- DataDonor – An initiative enabling citizens to donate personal health data for public research, presented by Christian Mercado.
- DELIVER – A project focused on enhancing digital skills for healthcare professionals, presented by Linda Justi.
- Partner presentations from Croatia and Poland further illustrated collaborative approaches to healthcare innovation.
Concluding activities included a cultural visit to the H.C. Andersen Museum and a Project Coordination Team meeting.
The study visit facilitated valuable discussions on telemedicine, data-driven healthcare, and cross-sectoral collaboration, reflecting the region's commitment to improving health outcomes for older adults through digital innovation.
