2nd LSG Meeting of the CARES project in Pomorskie Region

On November 29, 2024, the Pomorskie Voivodeship, as a partner of the CARES project, organized the 2nd meeting of the Local Stakeholder Group, which took place in the Herb Room of the Marshal's Office of the Pomorskie Voivodeship. It provided an opportunity for stakeholders and members of the project team to get to know each other directly (taking into account stakeholders' requests, the first meeting was held in an online format).
Taking the opportunity of the direct presence of the arriving participants, the meeting began with the introduction of all stakeholders.
Later in the meeting, the participants were presented with an report on a study visit to Odense, Denmark. During this study visit, the main theme of the presented good practices was the cooperation of the public sector with the private sector.
The Danish partner's good practices presented projects involving examining patients at home, through the use of special equipment that allowed the results of tests performed at home to be transferred directly to the GP's computer. Another Danish good practice involved the use of health data from health apps, smartphones, smartwatches and other similar devices, for health R&D projects. The last practice involved an e-learning platform, which was aimed at strengthening digital competencies among healthcare professionals and targeted healthcare professionals, leaders and educational institutions.
The good practices presented proved that cooperation between sectors, the development of digital competencies among healthcare professionals and the implementation of innovative technologies to meet the challenges of an aging society are key to the success of such ventures.
Another highlight of the meeting was the lectures of three stakeholders.
The first to speak was Dr. Dagmara Wiewiórkowska-Garczewska - a geriatrician from the Pomeranian Rheumatology Center in Spot, who presented the problems and needs of seniors in the region based on her many years of professional experience.
Among the most significant problems affecting seniors, she mentioned falls, dementia and multi-morbidity, in the context of the functioning of a huge group of seniors alone, without care from their families.
The next speaker was Mr. Patryk Rozental, vice president of the Progression Foundation, which is engaged in inclusive activities and strengthening the community of people with disabilities and their environment. One of the main priorities of the Foundation is the promotion and dissemination of modern information technologies. In his speech, Mr. Patryk Rozental presented to the participants of the meeting an intelligent assistant, i.e. an innovative solution developed within the Foundation, aimed at adapting modern technologies to the needs of people with disabilities and seniors.
The last speaker was Ms. Agnieszka Bednarek, Medical Director of the Nordmedic Functional Rehabilitation Center in Gdynia. The speaker presented the range of possibilities of DIEGO VR, a robot used for innovative diagnosis and rehabilitation in the treatment of patients with neurological and orthopedic injuries.
The last part of the meeting was devoted to a discussion of stakeholders and members of the project team on possible areas within which it would be possible to undertake cooperation aimed at the implementation of a joint venture dedicated to innovative telemedicine solutions aimed at seniors in the Pomeranian region.
