Empowering NEETs: International Training Workshop in Vilnius

As part of the atWork4NEETs project, the Lithuanian Employment Service is organizing an International Training Workshop (ITW) in Vilnius, Lithuania, on 6–7 May 2025. This exciting event will bring together NEET project partners, policymakers, youth organizations, and other stakeholders to exchange knowledge and innovative practices on Work Exposure, Follow-up Services, and Matching NEETs’ Skills with Labour Market Demands.

The first day, held at the Grand Hotel Vilnius, will start with a welcome speech, setting a collaborative tone for the two days ahead. Participants will hear about Lithuania’s experience in promoting work exposure opportunities for NEETs, followed by a keynote presentation by Zane Čulkstēna from Latvia, who will introduce a fresh approach to skills matching in a rapidly changing labour market.

 In addition, there will be a presentation highlighting the role of students internships in public sector institutions, showcasing how these experiences can serve as stepping stones for young people entering the labour market.

Interactive workshops throughout the day will highlight good practices from across Europe, offering participants the chance to engage directly with practitioners and explore how these practices can be adapted to different contexts.

The second day will continue at the Vilnius Regional Career Center, where a study visit will showcase innovative spaces and tools used to guide young people toward employment pathways. A practical Skills Workshop will introduce a new Career Guidance Tool to support the daily work of those engaging with NEETs.
