The Clúster Digital de Catalunya has been strategically evolved to reinforce its role as a key enabler of digital transformation in Catalonia — with a distinct focus on the technology supply side. The cluster now approaches industrial digitalisation not only as a regional challenge, but as a major business opportunity for digital companies.

This new strategy identifies the manufacturing sector, particularly SMEs, as a high-impact domain where digital providers can deploy their solutions to address real needs. By facilitating connections between supply and demand, the cluster aims to accelerate technology adoption while creating new market opportunities for its members.

As part of this renewed approach, the Clúster Digital has launched the Barometer of the Digital Transformation of Industry in Catalonia — an initiative that stems directly from this strategic repositioning. The barometer provides critical insights into where digital opportunities lie within the manufacturing landscape and will serve as a key tool for aligning the cluster’s future action plan accordingly.

Complementing this, the cluster has strengthened collaborations with universities, research centres, and innovation hubs, while also rolling out new working groups, experience-sharing events, and pilot project support. These activities are all aimed at bridging the gap between digital capabilities and industrial needs.

To reflect this transformation, the Clúster Digital de Catalunya has also updated its visual identity and communication to clearly convey its strategic focus. This evolution has been made possible through the strong alignment and commitment of the cluster’s leadership and ecosystem partners, who share a common goal: to position digital companies as drivers of industrial innovation.

The process officially began in March 2024, and by the end of the same year, the new strategy was fully implemented and consolidated. The cluster publicly announced its new strategic focus during the members’ assembly in April 2024. Over the following months, a new visual identity and messaging were developed to support this shift. A key highlight was the INTalks event, centered on the industrial manufacturing sector, where the cluster unveiled its refreshed image and strategic vision to a wider audience.

This successful strategic shift offers valuable lessons for other clusters and regions aiming to accelerate industrial digitalization and sustainable manufacturing. The collaborative model—bringing together companies, technology centers, and public administrations—demonstrates how shared commitment and clear communication can drive impactful change.
