Promoting gender inclusive urban planning policies in Valenciennes Métropole

From 17 to 18 April 2024, the Policy Learning Platform is organising a peer review for Valenciennes Métropole, France. 

In 2019, Valenciennes Métropole signed the European Charter for equality of women and men in local life.

Following this signature, in 2021, Valenciennes Métropole launched its first action plan to promote gender equality within an integrated vision in its public policies and implemented some concrete actions.

Valenciennes Métropole, however, faces some difficulties in the implementation of its roadmap to promote gender inclusive urban planning policies, due to a discrepancy in alignment among stakeholders.
