Webinar 1st – Digitalization-

In the context of the ORIGINN project, first event in a series of 4 webinars organized by the project partners. According to the previously established theme, this webinar was linked to the semester’s subtopic, which is digitalization.  

In their introductory speeches, the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Regional Affairs of Estonia and of Centru Regional Development Agency (Romania) respectively emphasized the importance of digitalization as a crosscutting domain and effective tool for reducing the imbalances between rural and urban territories in terms and socioeconomic development and opportunities.

After the introduction section, speakers from each partner region presented good practices focused on digitalization and successful examples from their region, those ranging widely from large-scale programs and financing schemes to digital monitoring tools and to small-scale projects in the field of precision agriculture.

Based on examples presented during the webinar, the conclusions pointed out the fact that digitalization remains a highly relevant issue for rural development and additional efforts have to be made and the energies of the project’s partners should be channeled in order to speed up the related progress of the rural territories.
