Donating surplus food from the HoReCa sector to help those in need

Save the Food strives to ensure that less cooked food is wasted and that safe food is used for human consumption. We connect donors (corporate canteens) and recipients (charities) and thanks to a delivery company DoDo we rescue valuable leftover food. Since March 2022, more than 10,000 portions have been saved in Prague.

We have been working for more than two years to make it easy and legal to donate cooked meals in the Czech Republic.

We are looking for partners to share their experience and help us develop the project. We are currently developing an app to simplify donations and in the future we would like to develop the practice in other cities in the Czech Republic. We are also working to enforce ordinances that will make donations easier.
