The meeting followed the triple-helix principle, including participants from research and academic environment, business and non-governmental organizations specialized in waste recycling sectors and local and central public authorities (e. g. Romanian National Waters Administration, National Research Institute for Chemistry and Petrochemistry, University of Bucharest, Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests, City Hall Gruiu and Chitila, Bucharest Metropolitan Area Intercommunity Development Association, Ecorec Association). It was proved once again that the subject is of paramount importance for the region and a lot of actions are needed in order to improve the overall situation. The participants expressed interest regarding the future evolution of the project, the possible outcomes of the previewed activities and the exchange of experience process that is going to be developed among the project partners. In between the presentations of the meeting, active discussions on the future directions for reducing the waste took place. A particular emphasis was given to the process of identification of good practices in Bucharest-Ilfov Region and all the participants agreed to contribute with their experience to the implementation of this very important activity.
