Organised by the Joint Research centre of the European Commission, this workshop intented to offer participants an overview on the how/why/who of smart grids in Europe The workshop provided an opportunity to create or reinforce governance models that allow stronger links with other regions in Europe and with international networks.

Sara MINISINI, SET-UP project coordinator, presented the policy approach  to smart grids adopted by SET-UP partners and the results of the exchnage and learning process carried out within the project. She also stressed the benefits of interregional cooperation and its role in the definition of a common approach to the deplyment of smart grids at regional level.
