H2020 GALATEA project opening a call for funding for Blue Economy’s innovative SMEs as part of its Blue Growth accelerator
The Horizon 2020 project GALATEA just published its first open call for cascade funding towards innovative SMEs in some key Blue Growth Domains as part of its Blue Growth accelerator.
GALATEA, which stands for “Grow and AcceLerate your smArt projecTs in nEw value chAins of the European Blue Economy”, has the following objectives: to help develop new cross-sectoral and cross-border industrial value chains, to support innovative SMEs by using the cluster partners, and to foster the development of Blue Growth key industries in Europe to be competitive at the global level.
The project is looking to integrate technologies and know-how from aerospace and ICT communities to 4 key Blue Growth Domains: Smart Port, Smart Ship, Smart Shipyard and Maritime Surveillance.
Two different voucher schemes are available for interested innovative SMEs. The first option is a scheme offering direct support of up to 20.000€, directed at technologies development and transfer activities.
The second option is available for a consortium of at least two SMEs and is available for applications that present prototyping or demonstration activities. For this type of vouchers SMEs can receive up to 60.000€.
To be eligible, SMEs need to either be a part of one of the partner clusters or be located in one of the partnerhip’s country: France, Spain, Greece, Poland or Romania.
Furthermore, the GALATEA project is offering an independent call for innovation services. Eligibility conditions are the same and selected SMEs will get coaching services to facilitate and support them in carrying out their innovation and scale-up activities. The 4 types of coaching services offered are Business Model elaboration, Technology expertise, Internationalisation and Funding Opportunities identification.
