Virtual Interregional Learning Session of STAR Cities


The 5th Interregional Learning Session of STAR Cities will be hosted online by the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region (RRA LUR) from April 20 to 22 and May 5 and 6, 2021.
The event will focus on Environment and Sustainability through virtual study visits to discover good practices and workshops.

They take care of riverbanks maintenance works, organise boat cruises and other activities to promote environmental awareness along Marne river.

Thematic paths in Ljubljansko barje Nature ParkLjubljansko barje Nature ParkTrails equipped with information boards and interactive tools interpreting flora, fauna and geographical characteristics of the Ljubljansko barje. Global aim of establishing and recognizing the park as a sustainable tourist destination.
Ljubljanica River ExhibitionMuseum and Galleries of Ljubljana, Municipality of VrhnikaThe interactive exhibition is dedicated to the natural and cultural heritage of the Ljubljanica River basin. It is designed to encourage the public to actively participate in strengthening the common responsibility for heritage.
Haute Ile Nature Park – Natura 2000 siteSeine-Saint-Denis Department CouncilA 65-hectare park inspired by the natural landscapes of the alluvial zones close to the Marne river. Also an area of great biodiversity. Guided tours and other animations are organised during spring and summer.
UPYNES – TEKAInitiative "UPYNĖS", partner of Kaunas 2022Virtual tool of the TẽKA initiative, which collects an archive of the memory of rivers, streams, and banks of the Kaunas region, and records the ecological situation of rivers and cultural signs.

Big Jump – European Rivers Swimming DayEuropean River Network – Saint-Maur-des-Fossés municipality as a participantOpen source event aiming at building support for efforts to protect and restore European freshwater systems and encourage people to join and save them. Since 2002, around 200,000 people have taken place during over 2000 events in 34 countries. At local level, a very powerful event to mobilise policy makers and inhabitants.
Tiberis BeachCity of RomeAn equipped area built on the banks of the Tiber, which has been depolluted and given back to citizens as a space equipped for river tourism.
Let's celebrate the riverKaunas 2022Community festival along the rivers in Kaunas and its District. The initiative started in 2020 and gathered community members, artists, etc. Its goal is to develop the dialogue related to the sustainable river tourism forms and activities.
Organisation of big walks as events to discover the territoryVal-de-Marne Tourism BoardAnnual cultural walks punctuated by visits and animations proposed by local partners to discover the territory to hundreds of participants.
