Sustainability & Tradition: 4th T4SDG Meeting in Nyíregyháza

The fourth Interregional Meeting of the Tourism4SDG project will take place on the 7th and 8th of May in Nyíregyháza, hosted by the Nyíregyháza Municipality. The two-day programme will feature a Knowledge Transfer Seminar, a study visit, and a Steering Committee meeting, bringing together partners to exchange insights and explore sustainable tourism practices aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The first day will include the Knowledge Transfer Seminar with presentations on local tourism trends, sustainable transport, and regional development opportunities. Partners will also learn about I-DEST, an innovative tourism monitoring system, and visit the Sóstó Zoo as an example of experience-based and educational tourism. The day will conclude with the Steering Committee meeting, followed by a cultural evening showcasing Hungarian gastronomy and traditions.
On the second day, the focus will shift to a study visit highlighting local best practices. Participants will explore the Sóstó Open Air Museum and Sóstó Zoo, take part in interactive heritage experiences, and join a tree-planting ceremony celebrating sustainability. The event will close with a community bike tour and a city walk promoting eco-friendly mobility and urban heritage.
