About the project
The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to rapidly changing IT needs and an urgent need for companies to become more agile to survive. SMEs, especially those in traditional industries, had to scale the IT usage and to acquire new kinds of IT capabilities. New realities implied new needs and solutions. The project is focusing at identifying approaches and practices in supporting the introduction of emerging technologies in service for traditional industries as a competitiveness catalyser. Based on the practice gained in connecting the digital and traditional businesses in the pre-COVID 19 times, the partnership will explore the shift in the way companies from traditional industries could integrate digital innovations in their processes. The aim is to structure effective support approaches for adoption of XaaS through improvements in the regional smart specialisation strategies, design of specific funding schemes and a pilot action for boosting the uptake of new kinds of IT capabilities.
