Startup Europe is an initiative of the European Commission which encourages entrepreneurship, startup creation and growth, notably in deep technology areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, High Performance Computing and Blockchain.
Startup Europe especially works to connect the local ecosystems of start-ups, including investors, accelerators, corporate networks, universities, entrepreneurs and media on the European level. For example, a mapping of the European Startup Hubs is publicly accessible, including lessons learnt and policy recommendations.
Call for proposals
The recently published call for proposals H2020-ICT-33-2019 Startup Europe for Growth and Innovation Radar provides opportunities for regional startup ecosystems to connect with other ecosystems on a pan-European and international level.
The call aims at fostering cross-border activities such as connecting entrepreneurs with potential investors and business partners, and developing services that helps startups to soft land in new markets. Special attention will be placed on supporting digital startups and scale-ups to access public procurement opportunities across borders.
