On October 4, the European Parliament approved the ratification of the Paris Agreement – in the presence of European Commission's President, Jean-Claude Juncker, the United Nation's Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon and the President of COP 21, Ségolène Royal. With the approval the last hurdle to the implementation of the Agreement has been cleared. The political process for the European Union to ratify the Agreement has thus been concluded.
