Innovative training sessions aimed to the improvement of the creative processes as instrument necessary to guarantee the innovation process and growth for SME
1. Main Objective: Products, process and services innovation through Training, Coaching and Business Process Engineering;
2. How to reach the Objective: Through an improvement of production processes; through a lean manufacturing approach and through the redesign of business processes especially those related to marketing and sales;
3. Instruments: Active and complete involvement of human resources.
Only a true and strong motivational drive and a sense of membership in the Organization (SME) manages to align the interests of the individual with those of the SME. It thus aims to ensure that there is full involvement and identification of the staff with the company's Vision and, therefore, the total involvement of the individual to the achievement of organizational goals.
CeFAS has worked on the styles and behavioral dynamics in order to enhance the ability of each participant to be able to create their own personal vision, identify their strengths and recognize their weaknesses, analyze the "Comfort Zone" and strengthen its "decision-making" ability, analyzing "where you are" and deciding "where you want to be", strengthening the view creativity as the ability to get out of the common experience and habitual thought patterns to generate alternative and original ideas (Problem Solving).
It has been possible using instruments as: Emotional self-awareness, self-management, Social awareness, Relationship Management.

Resources needed

Ce.F.A.S. has organized 14 editions of this initiative from 2012 to 2015 with the participation of 41 SMEs and the active involvement of 72 employers and entrepreneurs. In total 694 hours of training were disbursed with a total expenditure of 110.000 euros.

Evidence of success

After the public granted period, 9 on 17 participating SMEs have decided to continue the process at own cost.
CeFAS has monitored the impact by a questionnaire distributed two months after the end of the activity.
Main results obtained were a behavior change inside the SMEs organizations through a general improvement of the team building capacities and an alignment of the “personal” vision with the “enterprise” vision.

Difficulties encountered

The main problem encountered it’s the absence of targeted calls, too much oriented to traditional innovation initiatives and not opened to new processes.
Once tested and understood, entrepreneurs were opened to invest their money.

Potential for learning or transfer

All the participant SMEs come from several industrial sectors and are all located in the rural areas of the Province of Viterbo.
The activities developed by all the initiatives have a Multidisciplinary approach in order to demonstrate the efficacy of the used methodology that can be applied for all SMEs in all territories.
Starting with this conditions, the tested methodology can be easily applied in all EU rural territories and in all sectors (production, handcraft, services, tourism, commercial, etc.).
The tested methodology has demonstrated the economy and the efficiency.
