An Alternative-Fuel Vehicles exhibition was organised to obtain a greater visibility and knowledge about non fossil-fuel vehicles.
The Alternative-Fuel Vehicle Show was organized in two parts. On the one hand, there was an exhibition area where public could learn and watch all about this kind of vehicles, even they were allowed to test them.
On the other hand, there was a congress part where main stakeholders gave conferences and where all of them could exchange all sort of information.
The beneficiaries of the practice were producers and distributors of Alternative-Fuel Vehicle as well as general public.
This good practice is related to awareness raising and with the policies and measures for Electro-Mobility because it was part of the Regional Strategy for electric vehicle in Castilla y León.
The amount of funding/financial resources used was about 100.000 – 150.000 € and the human resources required to set up and to run the practice were about 4 people per year.
Evidence of success
The main objective for this practice as indicated previously was to obtain a greater visibility. As a factual evidence that demonstrates its success, the AC Castile and Leon can attest that the show attracted about 10.000 people each year and the 20 % of them were sector professionals.
The years when the show was carried out were affected with a serious economic crisis which had a clear influence in the automotive sector and people was not ready yet to buy electric cars.
Potential for learning or transfer
This practice could be potentially interesting for other regions because of the visibility about electric vehicles achieved.
The major disadvantage is the investment needed, because it has a size so that consider. This makes the practice inadequate for the Actions Plans and Regional Co-Design Stakeholder Workshops.
However, with this practice, the Awareness about Electromobility in society would rise clearly and that is the reason why we take it into account for this template.
