Based on the needs/opportunities detected in the territory, the participants develop different scalable solutions based on technology and innovation.
Focus and high specialization with a territory bases is a different approach to promote technological entrepreneurship.
Based on the previous analysis of the needs and opportunities of the territory, the #ProgramaPrimer programme meets the demand of one of the Government of Catalonia and Catalunya Emprèn’s highest aims: to promote companies dealing in innovative technologies whose entrepreneurial activity will help to spread Barcelona’s technological influence throughout Catalonia.

With this aim in mind, Catalunya Emprèn is holding the call for entities based in the region to develop entrepreneurship programs that focus on innovation and highly specialised technology, meet a specific, identified need, and use levers, or competitive advantages, to add value to the solutions they create and ensure their success.
Our aim is to spread the tech-start-ups phenomenon that Barcelona is concentrating to medium and small municipalities in our region.
The programs from the pre-accelerators has 2 parts:
1) A training program of about 100-150 hours, where the participants work on several opportunities & necessities in a specific field, also on the technologies that can be applied for solving these necessities and on the Global market for these solutions.
2) The second part is a tutorial/mentoring program to help the entrepreneurs on the creation or pivot of their start-ups.

Evidence of success

From the first two editions of the program (2017 and 2018) they have been developed a total of 23 technology-based start-ups, distributed throughout the Catalan territory.

Our aim is to have around 20 programs in Catalonia and the development of around 40-50 specialized start-ups, by the end of 2020.
