is a national communication and environmental education project. It started in 2013 and it has been replicated for four editions. The activity takes place in the schools of some selected municipalities and is apllies to classroom of children from 9 to 12 years old. The aim of the project is to inform and communicate to the children what WEEE are, the correct way to collect them and the importance of the recycling. It was promoted by Centro di Coordinamento RAEE and ANCI (the Italian association of municipalities).
The project involved 140 municipalities, more than 9.900.000 inhabitants, 125.000 students, 1000 schools and 5000 classrooms.
Informative educational material was prepared and distributed to the schools (such as brochure, posters and video with a famous italian comic actor) and prize competitions have been organized.
In each municipality a press conference was held to present the project.
In addition, with the help of the municipalities collection agencies, children were invited to collect permanently WEEE in the schools, also after the conclusion of the project.
The project was successful because children are very interested in the recycling, and they are very sensitive.
There have been many requests for participation by the municipalities for each edition.
The educational project, designed specifically for children, helped achieve the goals.
Prize competitions helped to create interest and motivation.
Collection in schools is a very important added value.
