The Policy Learning Platform is organising its first online peer learning for the benefit of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Spain. The planned online meetings plan to analyse and put forward solutions for services directed to start-ups.

It is always a problem to attract international talent, as well as to try to keep local talent away from leaving the country. Barcelona already attracts a lot of talent. It is the third favourite European city to create a start-up. But this is because the city is attractive itself, and not because of existing good practices from institutions, according to the host of the peer review. Therefore, to keep advancing, the regional government of Catalonia wanted to know which tools or policies could bring added value.

The online peer learning will bring together experts from France, Norway, Germany, Lithuania and the United Kingdom. And it will consist in three online meetings, planned for 15, 18 and 30 June. The end result will be a paper with concrete recommendations based on the specificities of the Catalan context.
