The Policy Learning Platform team is organising a two-day peer review in Aragon, Spain to tackle the depopulation challenge of the region hosted by the Instituto Aragonés de Fomento (IAF).
IAF is a public regional development agency, linked to Industry Competitiveness and Business Development Department of the Government of Aragon.
To address this challenge, IAF is focusing on key enabling technologies and ICT including digitalization and upgrading of traditional economic sectors such as agri-food or forestry. However, the stimulation of business around these opportunities requires the implementation of well-defined measures.
Several European peers as well as thematic experts from the Policy Learning Platform team will be leading the peer review with the objective to provide advice from other regional and local governments across Europe dealing with depopulation regarding the improvement and implementation of these measures.
The peer review will take place on 18 and 19 March in Aragon, Spain and a follow-up report will be made available following the meeting.
