In Research and Innovation Strategies for Smart Specialisation (RIS3), governance is an essential component that enables or hinders the effective design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of place-based innovation policies. In the next programming period 2021-2027, RIS3 governance, which is increasingly associated with quadruple helix, co-creation, and vision sharing, offers many opportunities for regional authorities to adopt more inclusive governance arrangements.

This webinar, taking place on Tuesday 22 October from 10:30 - 12:00 CET, will present tools on Better RIS3 Governance from the Policy Learning Platform, with presentations and discussions of three successful cases implemented in Europe:
- Governance tools from Orkestra – presented by Mari Jose Aranguren from Orkestra, the Basque Institute of Competitiveness (Spain)
- Roadmap for the Regional Agenda of Sustainable Materials for Asturias - presented by Paz Palacio Fernández, from IDEPA (Spain)
- Mazovian Innovation Council - presented by Sylwia Sztark, Marshal Office of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship in Warsaw
