The Policy Learning Platform is pleased to announce, yet another year, its active contribution to #EURegionsWeek with the organisation of various interactive activities taking place on Wednesday, 9 October 2019.
Have a look at the overview below and get ready to join - registration is open (8 July-27 September).
Interregional policy matchmaking sessions
Following last year’s success of the interregional policy matchmaking sessions, we decided to offer once again regions the opportunity to discuss their experiences and needs with other public authorities, thematic experts and policy stakeholders from across Europe. Throughout a 90-minute matchmaking session, your specific policy challenge can be in the spotlight to gather input and possible solutions.
What is an interregional policy matchmaking session?
Thematic discussions moderated by the Platform's experts, designed around the needs and challenges expressed by a specific regional policymaker. It is a great opportunity to meet like-minded peers and get inspiration from good practices in other parts of Europe.

How can I benefit?
The policy matchmaking sessions are addressed particularly to managing authorities of Structural Funds programmes, that would like to test-out interregional learning possibilities. Other bodies responsible for local and regional development policies are also welcome to join.
Are you one of them? Then get in contact with us via this short form. We will treat your application in no time.
We cover the following topics: Research and innovation (TO1), SME competitiveness (TO3), Low-carbon economy (TO4) or Environment and resource efficiency (TO6).
Participatory session: 'Interreg Europe: New tools to help you improve your regional policies'
‘For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them’ (Aristotle). The Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform team invites policy makers working in the field of regional development seeking smart solutions for improving their regional policy to learn by doing, while joining our interactive workshop.
What will happen during the ‘Interreg Europe: New tools to help you improve your regional policies' workshop?
- Peer experience: You will have the chance to hear from people that have participated in peer reviews and learn how this experience has paved the way for policy change in their region.
- Policy speed exchanging: We know that networking time is never enough; that is why we designed this fast forward experience, just for you. In less than 30 minutes you will have the chance to exchange with our thematic experts and other peers and the agenda is set by you!
- Tailored policy advice: We only ask for two things: your presence and your regional/local challenge! After that, you can trust our thematic experts who will be there to consult you and guide you on how to address it.
Register now, join us in Brussels and get ready to test #policylearning in action!
