The Policy Learning Platform is pleased to announce the organisation of four interregional policy matchmaking sessions taking place at the fifth edition of 'Europe, let's cooperate!' forum in Brussels on 10 April 2019.

Four different regions will have the opportunity to discuss their experiences and needs with other public authorities, thematic experts and policy stakeholders from across Europe, through a 90-minute matchmaking session designed to address their specific regional challenges.

More particularly, the challenges addressed per region are:

  • 14:00 - 15:30 'Setting up one-stop-shop for energy refurbishment in buildings' by the Walloon region, Belgium
  • 14:00 - 15:30 'Systematisation and valorisation of cultural heritage sites' by the Krapina-Zagorje region, Croatia
  • 15:30 - 17:00 'Tackling the digital divide – digitalisation of public documentation services' by the Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur Region, France
  • 15:30 - 17:00 ‘Startup support and smart city policies’ by the Berlin Senate, Germany

What is a policy matchmaking session?

Thematic discussions moderated by the Platform's experts in the field that are designed around the needs and challenges expressed by a specific regional policymaker. It is a great opportunity to meet like-minded peers and get inspiration from good practices in other parts of Europe.

They are a new type of service offered by the Policy Learning Platform. And they were proposed for the first time in October 2018, for the European Week of Regions and Cities. Watch the video below to see how these sessions look like:

How can I benefit?

The policy matchmaking sessions are addressed particularly to people representing managing authorities of Structural Funds programmes, that would like to test-out interregional learning possibilities.

If you are one of them, get in contact with our thematic experts to discuss possibilities.

We cover the following topics: Research and innovation (TO1), SME competitiveness (TO3), Low-carbon economy (TO4) or Environment and resource efficiency (TO6).
