On 24 August, the Policy Learning Platform is organising an online matchmaking session for the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. The matchmaking session will focus on models and instruments for the funding and implementation of Smart City testbeds.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinates the City for the Future project which aims to promote solutions supporting sustainable urban development provided by Czech companies.
Together with the Czech Ministry of Regional Development, which is coordinating the national Smart City Policy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is planning a set-up of Smart City testbeds to support the promotion of Czech-based technologies and solutions for cities.
The objectives for the new programme are:
- Stimulate implementation of new technologies in Czech cities and municipalities
- Enable Czech innovative enterprises to gain references and feedback for European and global market expansion
- Raise public awareness and acceptance of Smart City innovations through pilot tests involving local communities
During the matchmaking, we will address challenges to better understand how such testbeds can be implemented, managed and funded.
Our matchmaking sessions are invite-only events. We will share a follow-up article with you afterwards.
