During phase 2 of the P2L2 project, the Danish Agency for Institutions and Educational Grants (DAIEG) have been actively involved in the national dialogue for creating a new and simplified business promotion system. A new national board for business promotion has now been established and is well in the process of creating a cohesive strategy for business promotion, as well as a new Danish Smart Specialization Strategy (RIS3) for the next ERDF funding period from 2021 to 2027.
DAIEG have helped in drafting the background material regarding the identification of a limited number of Danish positions of strengths concerning knowledge, education and research capacity within the Danish knowledge institutions. Furthermore, DAIEG and the Danish P2L2 stakeholders have also been involved in identifying in which areas there is need for cluster initiatives, especially regarding emerging positions of strength (“spirende”).
DAIEG have also funded several innovation projects concerning advanced materials and related sectors during phase 2 of the P2L2 project. This includes three separate projects related to advanced materials within the Interreg programe - Innovation Express Baltic Sea Regions (BSR):
- Strategy, Efficiency and Expansion for Danish and German plastics and metal working companies
- Sustainable materials for marine purposes for the Danish and Norwegian plastics and metal industries
- Inter-cluster cooperation project with emphasis on matchmaking activities between Danish and French SMEs and organizations working with cyber security.
The Danish P2L2 stakeholders are also involved in several networking and dissemination activities with ties to the Danish Regional Action Plan. The Danish Network for Security (Inno-SEC), along with The Danish Agency for Science and Higher Education, which is the space agency of Denmark, have arranged a space-related study visit to Toulouse from 21 to 22 May 2019. The study visit also includes stakeholders located in the Aquitaine Region, and the Aerospace Valley.
The Danish Technological Institute also held a workshop on 11 April 2019 with the participation of 65 companies interested in collaboration within rapid product development, customised products and spare parts using free forming injection moulding and 3D printed split moulds.
