The EU Commission launched EU Actions for Smart Villages in April 2017. One of the prioritized actions was a tender for a pilot project called Smart eco-social villages. Lars Hustveit from P-IRIS Lead Partner Sogn og Fjordane is taking part in an advisory group organised as part of the research and consultancy company Ecorys which won the offer with their proposal.

Lars looks forward to take part in the work and mentions the important connections between the work within P-IRIS and the work within the pilot project smart eco-social villages. A specific focus will be connectivity and digital solutions.

P-IRIS is working with rural innovation systems and in Central Ostrobothnia, Finland next May we will look at how ICT may be used to enhance triple helix cooperation in the sparcely populated areas. “It is thanks to P-IRIS that I am part of the work”, Lars underlines.
