DigitalCapabilities for Business Support - that was the subject of our meeting in Hampshire, UK. We have started that discussion with quite simple question.

What exactly that DIGITALIZATION is?

In the Internet, we might find many explanation of DIGITALIZATION:

1) Gartner IT Glossary says it is "the use of digital technologies to change a business model and provide new revenue and value-producing opportunities; it is the process of moving to a digital business."  /https://www.gartner.com/it-glossary/digitalization/

2) Business Dictionary explains digitalization as "the integration of digital technologies into everyday life by the digitization of everything that can be digitized."  /http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/digitalization.html

3) Merriam-Webster says that digitalization is "the process of converting something to digital form."  /https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/digitalization

So what that exactly is?

Another term of dititalization is digitization. When we want to explain it in the simplest words, its explanation is easy: is changing analog data to digital form. If we want to show some xaple, that would be easy: when we scan some document, we digitize it. Why? Because we change it forms from analog to digital, after scanning, we might see and find it on the screen of our PC.

I guess that's the simplest explanation of digitalization.
