The first program of HIGH-TECH.NRW, the first business accelerator for hardware-oriented high-tech start-ups in North Rhine-Westphalia, ends with a virtual closing event, called Demo Day, on November 13, 2020, between 12:00 and 16:00. The program was developed within the context of NMP-REG and represents a joint initiative of the NMWP.NRW clusters with six leading NRW-based universities of Bochum, Dortmund, Duisburg- Essen, Munster, Cologne and Aachen (further information at this link).
During the event, 12 start-ups of the HIGH-TECH.NRW Business Accelerator Program will present themselves to an audience of industry and science experts. The teams will present their innovative business cases in the areas of New Materials, Optical Technologies, Production Technology, E-mobility, SmartEnergy and Logistics 4.0. Demo Day promises to be an exciting and entertaining event with an award ceremony and the active participation of the Minister of Economy Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart.
The program focuses on mentoring and networking and is aimed primarily at founders and start-ups with hardware-oriented business concepts. In addition to individual coaching and mentors, strategic industrial partners such as EVONIK, KIRCHHOFF Automotive, the RAG Foundation and a dozen other companies contribute to the high quality of the program.
During the meeting, the NMP-REG project and in particular the Portuguese good practice of incubation and acceleration in business that inspired North Rhine-Westphalia to launch its Pilot Action will be presented. In fact, INL - International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (P4), together with Startup Braga have successfully introduced a business accelerator and incubation program with a focus on nanotechnology, advanced materials and health technologies in the Norte region which inspired the launch of the Pilot Action in Germany.
