World Refugee Day 2025

Another World Refugee Day will be held on Friday 20 June. It is a day dedicated to honouring all those who have embarked on a long journey away from home in search of safety.
The day was already set for 20 June in 2021, which was also the first time it was celebrated. The same year was the 50th anniversary of the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees, which took place in 1951.
This year, World Refugee Day focuses on solidarity with refugees - solidarity through action and deeds. It means supporting refugees and those who have taken them in, as well as ensuring their safety and opportunities for development. But above all, solidarity means clearly and courageously saying that refugees are not alone!
