New Handbook Now Online: Urban Agencies for Temporary Use

We are pleased to share the release of our 3rd IMPETUS Handbook, offering insights into how urban agencies can support sustainable regeneration through temporary use strategies. This document showcases good practices collected during our fourth semester, with a specific focus on Urban Agencies for Temporary Use.
From Warsaw’s Spółdzielnia platform, which facilitates community resource sharing, to Lille’s ADULM agency, which integrates temporary use into territorial planning, the featured case studies highlight the crucial role of intermediaries in enabling citizen-led transformations of underused urban spaces.
The Handbook also captures key moments from our recent Interregional Thematic Seminar in Warsaw and the Interregional Policy Brokerage in Las Palmas. Through study visits to Żyrardów, Warsaw, and La Isleta, we explored how temporary use initiatives can promote social inclusion, revitalise neighbourhoods, and address the pressures of gentrification.
This publication reflects our continued commitment to improving local policy instruments through interregional learning, shared knowledge, and active engagement with communities.
