The Publications Office of the European Union and the European Commission have just launched the fourth edition of the EU Datathon. The competition aims to show the potential of public data produced by EU institutions.
How can I participate?
To take part, you should propose the development of an innovative mobile or web application using open data. The datathons will gather teams from all over Europe working on four challenges:
- A European Green Deal
- An economy that works for people
- A new push for European democracy
- Europe fit for the digital age
Your team can submit a proposal in any or all of the following challenges, but with only one proposal per challenge. Explanatory webinars will be set up and announced on the website for participants to obtain more information on the features and datasets of the challenges.
What is the timeline?
You have to submit your project description by the 3 May 2020.
Twelve winning teams will be shortlisted. If you are among them, you will be invited to develop your application and present it on 13-15 October during the 18th European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels.
