Today in Europe 54 million people cannot keep their home adequately warm, 161 million face disproportionate housing expenditure, 87 million live in poor quality dwellings and 42 million face arrears on their utility bills. According to the latest European Parliament survey, 36% of households suffer from energy poverty, while tens of thousands of them have no access to power and/or heating.

Housing Europe is the European Federation of Public, Cooperative & Social Housing who visions Europe as a place which provides access to decent and affordable housing for all in communities which are socially, economically and environmentally sustainable and where all are enabled to reach their full potential.

Housing Europe actively realises their ongoing campaign “Housing for All”. To find a paper on energy poverty, which has been published, visit Housing Europe’s website.

For the second time, Housing Europe, in cooperation with other organisations, is organising the European Housing Responsible Awards. The Award Ceremony of the second edition of the European Responsible Housing Awards is taking place in November 23 in Brussels.
