Research and innovation are among priority topics of EU policies. They will be even more relevant in the future with new opportunities to support to innovation initiatives available for the period 2021-2027. However, addressing challenges such as COVID-19 recovery or accelerating the green and digital transition are also getting more and more complex. Even higher levels of coordination and combination of funding will be needed.

This event looks into the complementarities and synergies between different Interreg strands and other funding programmes and instruments in the new regulatory framework of 2021-2027. The focus is on smart specialisation and place-based policy approaches. Discussion builds on experiences and recommendations from existing programmes.

Experiences from the Interreg Europe context will be highlighted in the event by Marc Pattinson, a Thematic Expert of our Policy Learning Platform. See the event agenda for more information.
