On 9 November 2018, DG REGIO organises a workshop to bring together actors from projects, the EU Institutions and stakeholder organisations to discuss the tools, methods and approaches to foster the development of mountainous areas in the European Union.
Mountain settlements are often characterised by isolated location or distance to urban hubs and services (education, health, business or cultural opportunities). As many of these settlements are cross-border in nature, transnational/ interregional cooperation are key components of developing these areas.
The aim of this workshop is to share experiences from mountainous areas governance models in mountainous regions to identify novel approaches which could help improve the situation in the future.
Registration to the event can be sent via email by 2 November.
