In addition to the high-level political debate during the Covenant of Mayors Ceremony, the EU Covenant of Mayors Office will join forces with the European Commission's Directorate-Generals for Energy, Climate Action and the Executive Agency for Small and medium-sized Enterprises (EASME) to organise a one-day Investment Forum on energy efficiency.
The aim of the Investment Forum is to accelerate investment in climate adaptation and sustainable energy, which contribute to clean energy transition and the EU climate and energy targets for 2020 and 2030.
In addition to bringing together stakeholders and practitioners from cities, regions and industry as well as the financial sector, various successful projects will be presented in interactive workshops covering topics such as:
- financing climate adaptation
- clean urban transport
- energy efficiency in public assets and home renovation in cities and regions
- initiatives working across Europe to facilitate the market for climate and sustainable energy finance
Good practices and experiences on developing bankable investment pipelines will be introduced, and an exhibition with stands presenting successful projects and resources available to support project promotors, including local and regional authorities to design and implement successful initiatives are also present.
