Within the framework of the project INTENSIFY, the Province of Treviso will host a study visit in Treviso on 13-14 November 2019. The visitors come from the partner municipalities of Milton Keynes (United Kingdom) and Zadar (Croatia). The visit will focus on the Energy Performance Integrated Contract (EPIC) developed by the Province of Treviso to manage the energy and maintenance of all the upper secondary school buildings of the Province of Treviso,as well as its stock of institutional buildings.
On the morning of Wednesday 13 November, Mr Antonio Zonta, Director of the Building Estate and Public Tenders Department of the Province ofTreviso, will present the evolution of EPIC over the years, emphasizing the importance of the users’ behavior in driving down energy consumption.Ms Paola Gallina, technical expert at the Building Estate and Public Tenders Department of the Province of Treviso, will present the Greenschools competition: an annual contest run by the Province and involving many upper secondary schools in energy saving activities that are measured and awarded according to the goals achieved. Ms Federica Giandolo, technical expert at the European Relations Unit of the Province of Treviso, will present the main features of the Central Europe project on energy efficiency TOGETHER, focusing on the incentive of the Building Alliance. Ms Marina Coghetto, technical expert at the Building Estate and Public Tenders Department of the Province of Treviso, will present the smart metering technology employed by the Province of Treviso to measure the energy consumption of its public buildings. Mr Paolo Barnaba, technical expert at the European Relations Unit of the Province of Treviso, will present the calculator and APP developed within EduFootprint: an Interreg Med project aimed at measuring the carbon footprint of schools, according to the life cycle assessment. In the afternoon the delegation will have the chance to visit the plants of the Province (PV plants, biomass heater, infocad system) in order to see how the EPIC works in practice. On Thursday 14 November, the delegations will visit the land surveyor school Palladio in Treviso, where they will meet a group of students presenting the activities they carry out with a view to reduce CO2. In addition the delegation will visit the school plant rooms and see some of the projects the school completed in the context of energy saving.
