The next edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities is coming up on 7-10 October 2019 in Brussels, Belgium. Interreg Europe will be an active contributor to #EURegionsWeek and organise several different sessions and activities during the week.

#policylearning in action | Interregional policy matchmaking

In addition to a participatory session, the Policy Learning Platform offers you a possibility to discuss your experiences and needs with other public authorities and policy stakeholders from across Europe in an expert-facilitated thematic matchmaking session.

The policy matchmaking sessions are addressed particularly to managing authorities of Structural Funds programmes, that would like to test-out interregional learning possibilities. Other bodies responsible for local and regional development policies are also welcome to join.

Participatory Lab | Fighting food waste while boosting local economic activity

Based on research and practices on the ground, representatives from the ESPON, INTERACT, Interreg Europe and URBACT programmes will present how local and regional authorities can turn food waste from public institutions, businesses, and households into a resource for the whole society.

Through interactive and participatory techniques, this session will make participants reflect on their local situation and on the margin of maneuver they have to (better) use food waste as to tackle economic, environmental and social challenges.
