Since it started, IMPACT Interreg Europe project has demonstrated the benefits of Interregional Cooperation, facilitated the exchange of 38 good practices between six partner regions across Europe and fostered the creation of five Action Plans that will undoubtedly contribute to the sustainable development of the Protected Areas involved in them.

Furthermore, IMPACT has allowed us to acquire a new perspective in which Protected Areas are placed at the centre of the socio-economic development of European regions and local communities.

Today, it is time to collect the results of this cooperation, sum up the lessons learned and put into context all the actions carried out in a final IMPACT closing conference. And to do so, we couldn´t find a better framework than the biggest European event for experts in regional and local development and key event on EU Regional Policy: the  European Week of Regions & Cities in Brussels.

The workshop 'Making an IMPACT: Putting Protected Areas at the heart of EU policies for sustainable development of regions and cities' was selected among an unprecedented high number of applications within the topic A Europe closer to citizens . The workshop will take place on the 8th October 2019, 11:30 - 13:00 and will be followed by a networking event.
