GendER Map - Gender equality and work: mapping Emilia-Romagna best practices

About this good practice
Emilia-Romagna, a dynamic region in Northern Italy with 5 million residents, boasts a strong economy and rich culture. However, gender disparities persist, notably in employment: women's employment rate is lower (67.9% vs 81.7% for men), involuntary part-time work disproportionately affects women, and a significant pay gap exists. To address this, the GendER Map was created. This interactive bilingual tool designed by ART-ER as part of the DEBUTING project maps and promotes regional initiatives that foster equal workplace opportunities targeting public/private entities, businesses, educational and training institutions, non-governmental organizations.
GendER Map is created to be accessible, with a color choice tested to ensure visibility also for people with color blindness. Good practices included are classified by name, period and type of funding body, with the specification of the financing body or programme when available. They are organized by tags and thematic categories. The tags cover 6 main areas inspired by those of the Italian regulatory practice for gender equality certification UNI/PdR 125:2022, with customizations to better adapt to the experiences presented: training, policies and financing, protection of parenthood, leadership, integration of the dimension of gender, and human resources. The thematic categories, identified in the Debuting project, cover aspects such as training for women, organizational culture, innovation and sustainable business development

E-R Clust-ERs are promoting it by their members and we have been asked to present the tool on several occasions.
Potential for learning or transfer
Stakeholders, especially companies, frequently request examples for inspiration or to gain confidence.
It is a very easy replicable tool using free software.
It needs to be adapted to local context and language.
While thematic categories are derived from the DEBUTING project, tags are linked to a national regulatory practice to create connection and greater visibility.
