- ”Good of Maramures” („Bun de Maramures”) Fair, Days of Maramures 2019 (Romania)
Part of the major event Maramures Days 2019 - Vth Edition organised by Maramures County during 17th-19th May 2019, the ”Good of Maramures” Fair gathered in Baia Mare, within the beautiful Village Museum, over 50 producers, craftsmen and stakeholders interested in promoting the cultural and traditional values of Maramures.
The numerous visitors from the country and abroad have been delighted with local traditional objects, popular clothes, natural cosmetics, bee products, traditional food and they had the opportunity to discuss with specialists in EU funds for the rural area.
Our Food Chains 4 EU (FC4EU) project was presented in the fair by representatives of the Maramures project team, highlighting the importance of sustainable food chains for quality and healthy life.
Through FC4EU project, Maramures County will develop the action plan for identifying, bringing together and supporting representative and quality local products, under the registered brand "Good of Maramures".
- "Maramures Presence in Europe" Symposium – Europe Day 2019
Every year, on 9th of May, we celebrate the unity and diversity of the European common space, with 28 Member States and over 500 million European citizens who share common values and ideals and enjoy the benefits of belonging to the European Union.
On 9th May 2019, the Prefecture of Maramures marked the Europe Day through the XIIth Edition of the "Maramures Presence in Europe" Symposium that brought into attention successful projects, activities and results at EU level of local schools, institutions and NGOs.
The Maramures County Council presented the main activities of the Food Chains 4 EU project and the Peer Review held in Maramures, in November 2018, in order to evaluate the local food chain.
The participants at the symposium have been very interested in the recommendations of the project experts for supporting of local producers and their associations for better correlation and cohesion of the food chains in Maramures County.
