Food quality, innovations in science, engineering, technology and biotechnology were analyzed at a two-day scientific conference with international participation at the University of Food Technology, partner in Food Chain 4 EU project . One hundred and twelve delegates, including foreigners from 15 countries, presented over 130 scientific studies.

The Academic Forum "Food Science, Engineering and Technology 2017" was opened on the 20th of October 2017 and this year's edition is the 64th edition of this prestigious event. 

Undoubtedly, science and education are factors for growth and economic development.


The annual holding of scientific conferences at the University of Food Technology is our contribution to the establishment of the leading position of science and education in the contemporary economic and spiritual life of the country ", stated in his address to the participants and guests the rector of the University of Food Technologies Prof Prof. Kolyo Dinkov, Ph.D.

In the four thematic areas of the conference, plenary reports were delivered by the invited lecturers: Prof. Dr. Reynold Karle (Germany) Doctor Honoris Causa of UFT (Germany), Prof. Dr. Pascal Degraf, (France), Prof. Ph.D. Rumen Kunchev (Technical University - Sofia) and Prof. Cherubino Leonardi (Italy).

Honorary signs and diplomas were awarded to lecturers from the University of Food Technologies, who have acquired the PhD degree.
