Denitsa Nikolova

Deputy Minister, Regional Development and Public Works, Sofia, Bulgaria

Ms. Denitsa Nikolova is a Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works in charge of European Cooperation Programmes in Bulgaria, National Coordinator for the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region and Head of the Managing Authority of Operational programme “Regions in Growth” 2014-2020 – Bulgaria.

She graduated as a Master in Economics, Major – “Finance” from the University for National and World Economy, Sofia. She had specializations in Management of the Confederation of Dutch Industry and Employers and Financial Control, Irregularity Reporting and Certification of financing by the EU Funds.

Before joining the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works as Deputy Minister in 2014 she held various posts in the private and public sector.

Her career at the Bulgarian administration started in 2006 at the National Fund Directorate at the Ministry of Finance, where she was in charge of the management of the European programmes.

Between 2010 and 2013 Denitsa was Director General of the Directorate General “Programming of Regional Development“ and Head of the Managing Authority of Operational programme “Regional development 2007-1013” – Bulgaria and member of the Board of Directors of FLAG Fund".
